2023 Project Merlot

Second vintage in, boy this Merlot MUST be good. Don’t give me side eye, we know you only think Merlot isn’t cool because of the movie Sideways. This is nothing like Pomerol, and nothing like the Merlot your dad drank in 1990 in his Reeboks. It’s juicy, slurpy and uber delicious. Poke your nose in the glass and smell the raspberry licorice, the bright red fruits and the little spicy note hiding there too. There’s a little bit of spice from a fancy technique called carbonic maceration. Have a sip and you might see the fleshiness on the palate, the freshness and liveliness of the red fruits,. The tannins are soft and supple, just enough to support all the flesh. Crunchy acidity really bringing the freshness.

Smells like: raspberries, red licorice, violets & fennel seeds.

Tastes like: the squishiest perfectly ripe fresh raspberry, fleshy round and supple.
